    Description

Prudhoe Bay crude oil in lucite paperweight Atlantic Richfield Co. (ARCO) 1972. New in box.
The Atlantic Richfield Company was created in 1966 by the merger of Richfield Oil Corporation and Atlantic Refining Company.
Under chief executive officer Robert O. Anderson, the new Atlantic Richfield Company made the first discovery of oil in Alaska’s Prudhoe Bay in 1968, and it was one of the main developers of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline in 1975–77. A further merger in 1969 brought in the refining and petrochemical capacities of Sinclair Oil Corporation.
